तो॒के हि॒ते तन॑य उ॒र्वरा॑सु॒ सूरो॒ दृशी॑के॒ वृष॑णश्च॒ पौंस्ये॑ । इन्द्रा॑ नो॒ अत्र॒ वरु॑णा स्याता॒मवो॑भिर्द॒स्मा परि॑तक्म्यायाम् ॥ तोके हिते तनय उर्वरासु सूरो दृशीके वृषणश्च पौंस्ये । इन्द्रा नो अत्र वरुणा स्यातामवोभिर्दस्मा परितक्म्यायाम् ॥
May Indra and Varuṇa, the overthrowers (of foes), be around us with (their) protections; (that thereby we may have) good sons and grandsons, and fertile lands, and long life, and virility.
english translation
यु॒वामिद्ध्यव॑से पू॒र्व्याय॒ परि॒ प्रभू॑ती ग॒विष॑: स्वापी । वृ॒णी॒महे॑ स॒ख्याय॑ प्रि॒याय॒ शूरा॒ मंहि॑ष्ठा पि॒तरे॑व श॒म्भू ॥ युवामिद्ध्यवसे पूर्व्याय परि प्रभूती गविषः स्वापी । वृणीमहे सख्याय प्रियाय शूरा मंहिष्ठा पितरेव शम्भू ॥
Desirous of (possessing) cattlle, we have recourse to you, Indra and Varuṇa, for full protection, you who are powerful and kind as (kinsmen); we have recourse to you, adorable heroes, for (your) friendship and affection, (to you who are), like parents, givers of happiness.
english translation
ता वां॒ धियोऽव॑से वाज॒यन्ती॑रा॒जिं न ज॑ग्मुर्युव॒यूः सु॑दानू । श्रि॒ये न गाव॒ उप॒ सोम॑मस्थु॒रिन्द्रं॒ गिरो॒ वरु॑णं मे मनी॒षाः ॥ ता वां धियोऽवसे वाजयन्तीराजिं न जग्मुर्युवयूः सुदानू । श्रिये न गाव उप सोममस्थुरिन्द्रं गिरो वरुणं मे मनीषाः ॥
Liberal givers, those (our) praises soliciting (abundant) food have proceeded to you for (your) protection; longing for you as (soldiers long) for battle, and as cattle approach the Soma for (its) advantage, so my heartfelt hymns (approach) Indra and Varuṇa.
english translation
इ॒मा इन्द्रं॒ वरु॑णं मे मनी॒षा अग्म॒न्नुप॒ द्रवि॑णमि॒च्छमा॑नाः । उपे॑मस्थुर्जो॒ष्टार॑ इव॒ वस्वो॑ र॒घ्वीरि॑व॒ श्रव॑सो॒ भिक्ष॑माणाः ॥ इमा इन्द्रं वरुणं मे मनीषा अग्मन्नुप द्रविणमिच्छमानाः । उपेमस्थुर्जोष्टार इव वस्वो रघ्वीरिव श्रवसो भिक्षमाणाः ॥
These my earnest praises approach Indra and Varuṇa, desirous to obtain wealth, as dependants attend (upon an opulent man) for the sake of riches, like humble (feminine les) begging for food.
english translation
अश्व्य॑स्य॒ त्मना॒ रथ्य॑स्य पु॒ष्टेर्नित्य॑स्य रा॒यः पत॑यः स्याम । ता च॑क्रा॒णा ऊ॒तिभि॒र्नव्य॑सीभिरस्म॒त्रा रायो॑ नि॒युत॑: सचन्ताम् ॥ अश्व्यस्य त्मना रथ्यस्य पुष्टेर्नित्यस्य रायः पतयः स्याम । ता चक्राणा ऊतिभिर्नव्यसीभिरस्मत्रा रायो नियुतः सचन्ताम् ॥
May we of our own (right) be the masters of permanent riches, comprising horses, chariots, and nourishment; may those two, traversing (the regions), direct their Niyut steeds towards us, associating (them) with riches and with recent protections.
