होता॑ दे॒वो अम॑र्त्यः पु॒रस्ता॑देति मा॒यया॑ । वि॒दथा॑नि प्रचो॒दय॑न् ॥ होता देवो अमर्त्यः पुरस्तादेति मायया । विदथानि प्रचोदयन् ॥

sanskrit

The offerer of the oblation, the divine, immortal, Agni, comes first (at the ceremony) directing solemnities by his experiences.

english translation

hotA॑ de॒vo ama॑rtyaH pu॒rastA॑deti mA॒yayA॑ । vi॒dathA॑ni praco॒daya॑n ॥ hotA devo amartyaH purastAdeti mAyayA । vidathAni pracodayan ॥
