अ॒ग्निं य॒न्तुर॑म॒प्तुर॑मृ॒तस्य॒ योगे॑ व॒नुष॑: । विप्रा॒ वाजै॒: समि॑न्धते ॥ अग्निं यन्तुरमप्तुरमृतस्य योगे वनुषः । विप्रा वाजैः समिन्धते ॥

The wise (priests) performers (of the ceremony) kindle with oblations for the due celebration of the rite, Agni, the regulator (of all), the sender of the rain.

english translation

a॒gniM ya॒ntura॑ma॒ptura॑mR॒tasya॒ yoge॑ va॒nuSa॑: | viprA॒ vAjai॒: sami॑ndhate || agniM yanturamapturamRtasya yoge vanuSaH | viprA vAjaiH samindhate ||

I adore at this sacrifice Agni the grandson of (sacrificial) food, shining above in the firmament, the creation of the wise.

U॒rjo napA॑tamadhva॒re dI॑di॒vAMsa॒mupa॒ dyavi॑ | a॒gnimI॑Le ka॒vikra॑tum || Urjo napAtamadhvare dIdivAMsamupa dyavi | agnimILe kavikratum ||

Agni, who is to be worshipped with praise and with prostration, the dispeller of darkness, the beautiful, the showerer (of benefits) is kindled.

I॒Lenyo॑ nama॒sya॑sti॒rastamAM॑si darza॒taH | sama॒gniri॑dhyate॒ vRSA॑ || ILenyo namasyastirastamAMsi darzataH | samagniridhyate vRSA ||

वृषो॑ अ॒ग्निः समि॑ध्य॒तेऽश्वो॒ न दे॑व॒वाह॑नः । तं ह॒विष्म॑न्त ईळते ॥ वृषो अग्निः समिध्यतेऽश्वो न देववाहनः । तं हविष्मन्त ईळते ॥

The offerers of oblations glorify that Agni who is the showerer (of benefits) and is the bearer of the offerings to the gods as a horse (bears his rider to his home).

vRSo॑ a॒gniH sami॑dhya॒te'zvo॒ na de॑va॒vAha॑naH | taM ha॒viSma॑nta ILate || vRSo agniH samidhyate'zvo na devavAhanaH | taM haviSmanta ILate ||

Showerer (of benefits) we profusely offering (oblations) kindle you mighty and resplendent Agni, who is the sender of showers.

vRSa॑NaM tvA va॒yaM vR॑Sa॒nvRSa॑Na॒: sami॑dhImahi | agne॒ dIdya॑taM bR॒hat || vRSaNaM tvA vayaM vRSanvRSaNaH samidhImahi | agne dIdyataM bRhat ||
