स्तवा॒ नु त॑ इन्द्र पू॒र्व्या म॒हान्यु॒त स्त॑वाम॒ नूत॑ना कृ॒तानि॑ । स्तवा॒ वज्रं॑ बा॒ह्वोरु॒शन्तं॒ स्तवा॒ हरी॒ सूर्य॑स्य के॒तू ॥ स्तवा नु त इन्द्र पूर्व्या महान्युत स्तवाम नूतना कृतानि । स्तवा वज्रं बाह्वोरुशन्तं स्तवा हरी सूर्यस्य केतू ॥
We glorify, Indra, your mighty (deeds) of old; we glorify your (more) recent exploits; we praise the thunderbolt shining in your arms, and we celebrate the horses, the signs of (Indra as) the sun.

Your swift horses, Indra, have uttered a loud sound, announcing rain; the level earth anxiously expects its fall, as the gathering cloud has passed.

नि पर्व॑तः सा॒द्यप्र॑युच्छ॒न्त्सं मा॒तृभि॑र्वावशा॒नो अ॑क्रान् । दू॒रे पा॒रे वाणीं॑ व॒र्धय॑न्त॒ इन्द्रे॑षितां ध॒मनिं॑ पप्रथ॒न्नि ॥ नि पर्वतः साद्यप्रयुच्छन्त्सं मातृभिर्वावशानो अक्रान् । दूरे पारे वाणीं वर्धयन्त इन्द्रेषितां धमनिं पप्रथन्नि ॥
The cloud, not heedless (of its office), is suspended (in the sky); resonant with maternal (waters), it has spread about; (the winds), augmenting the sound in the distant horizon; have promulgated the voice uttered by Indra.

इन्द्रो॑ म॒हां सिन्धु॑मा॒शया॑नं माया॒विनं॑ वृ॒त्रम॑स्फुर॒न्निः । अरे॑जेतां॒ रोद॑सी भिया॒ने कनि॑क्रदतो॒ वृष्णो॑ अस्य॒ वज्रा॑त् ॥ इन्द्रो महां सिन्धुमाशयानं मायाविनं वृत्रमस्फुरन्निः । अरेजेतां रोदसी भियाने कनिक्रदतो वृष्णो अस्य वज्रात् ॥
The mighty Indra has shattered the guileful Vṛtra reposing in the cloud;heaven and earth shook, alarmed at the thundering bolt of the showerer.

अरो॑रवी॒द्वृष्णो॑ अस्य॒ वज्रोऽमा॑नुषं॒ यन्मानु॑षो नि॒जूर्वा॑त् । नि मा॒यिनो॑ दान॒वस्य॑ मा॒या अपा॑दयत्पपि॒वान्त्सु॒तस्य॑ ॥ अरोरवीद्वृष्णो अस्य वज्रोऽमानुषं यन्मानुषो निजूर्वात् । नि मायिनो दानवस्य माया अपादयत्पपिवान्त्सुतस्य ॥
The thunderbolt of the showerer roared aloud, when (Indra), the friend of man, sought to slay the enemy of mankind. Drinking the Soma, he (Indra), baffled the devices of the guileful Dānava.
