ए॒ता चि॑कित्वो॒ भूमा॒ नि पा॑हि दे॒वानां॒ जन्म॒ मर्ताँ॑श्च वि॒द्वान् ॥ एता चिकित्वो भूमा नि पाहि देवानां जन्म मर्ताँश्च विद्वान् ॥

Heal these and protect the earth, for you know the birth of the demigods and the dead. O earth, please heal these diseases and protect the demigods, the births and the dead.

वर्धा॒न्यं पू॒र्वीः क्ष॒पो विरू॑पाः स्था॒तुश्च॒ रथ॑मृ॒तप्र॑वीतम् ॥ वर्धान्यं पूर्वीः क्षपो विरूपाः स्थातुश्च रथमृतप्रवीतम् ॥

Agni, whom many variously-tinted (mornings) and nights increase, whom, invested with truth, all moveable and immoveable things augment, has been propitiated, and is kindly seated at the holy rite, as the invoker (of the gods), and rendering all (pious) acts (productive) of reward.

Aradhi hota svarnishatta krinvan visvanyapansi satya. The priest who worships the heavenly planets is the source of all the waters of the universe.

Agni, confer excellence upon our valued cattle, and may all men bring us acceptable tribute; offering in many laces sacrifices to you, men receive riches from you, as (sons) from an aged father.

The ancestors of the demigods did not worship you, nor did they fill the Vedas with their tongues. The ancients did not worship you, nor did they fill the Vedas with their tongues.

vi tvA॒ nara॑: puru॒trA sa॑paryanpi॒turna jivre॒rvi vedo॑ bharanta || vi tvA naraH purutrA saparyanpiturna jivrervi vedo bharanta ||
