भानोः कटुर्भूमिसुतस्य तिक्तं लावण्यमिन्दोरथ चन्द्रजस्य । मिश्रीकृतं यन्मधुरं गुरोस्तु शुक्रस्य चाम्लं च शनेः कषायः ॥ ३१॥

Pungent bitter, saltish, mixed, sweet, sour (acid) and astringent are the flavours respectively of the Sun, Mars, the Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn.
