Phaladeepika
सौम्यर्क्षंशे सौम्ययुक्ते पञ्चमे वा तदीश्वरे । वैशेषिकांशे सद्भावे धीमान्निष्कपटी भवेत् ॥ १५॥
If the 5 th Bhava be identical with a Rasi or Amsa owned by Mercury (a benefic) or occupied by that planet, the person born will be intelligent and open-hearted. The same will be the case if the lord of the 5 th house is well posited and has attained a Vaiseshikamsa.

saumyarkSaMze saumyayukte paJcame vA tadIzvare । vaizeSikAMze sadbhAve dhImAnniSkapaTI bhavet ॥ 15॥
