अथ वीरो नामोत्तमप्रकृतिरुत्साहात्मकः । स चासंमोहाध्यवसायन- विनयबलपराक्रमशक्तिप्रतापप्रभावादिभिर्विभावैरुत्पद्यते । तस्य स्थैर्यधैर्यशौर्यत्यागवैशारद्यादिभिरनुभावैरभिनयः प्रयोक्तव्यः । भावाश्चास्य धृतिमतिगर्वावेगौग्र्यामर्षस्मृतिरोमाञ्चादयः । अत्रार्ये रसविचारमुखे - उत्साहाध्यवसायादविषादित्वादविस्मयामोहात् । विविधादर्थविशेषाद्वीररसो नाम सम्भवति ॥ १॥

It arises from Determinants such as confidence, determination, humility, strength, valor, power, prestige, and influence. On the stage, this sentiment is represented by Consequents such as stability, courage, heroism, sacrifice, and sharpness. The complementary Psychological States include determination, pride, energy, fierceness, wrath, memory, horripilation, and others. In the Āryā, it is explained that the Heroic Sentiment arises from confidence, determination, the absence of sorrow or surprise, and special conditions like enthusiasm. It manifests from a variety of specific conditions and situations.
