त्रासश्चैव वितर्कश्च विज्ञेया व्यभिचारिणः । त्रयस्त्रिंशदमी भावाः समाख्यातास्तु नामतः ॥ २१॥
Fear, doubt, and delusion are also considered psychological states. These thirty-three states are known by name.

trAsazcaiva vitarkazca vijJeyA vyabhicAriNaH । trayastriMzadamI bhAvAH samAkhyAtAstu nAmataH ॥ 21॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्तम्भः स्वेदोऽथ रोमाञ्चः स्वरभेदोऽथ वेपथुः । वैवर्ण्यमश्रु प्रलय इत्यष्टौ सात्विकाः स्मृताः ॥ २२॥
These eight are the pure psychological states: paralysis, perspiration, horripilation, change of voice, trembling, pallor, tears, and death.

stambhaH svedo'tha romAJcaH svarabhedo'tha vepathuH । vaivarNyamazru pralaya ityaSTau sAtvikAH smRtAH ॥ 22॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआङ्गिकौ वाचिकश्चैव ह्याहार्यः सात्विकस्तथा । चत्वारोऽभिनया ह्येते विज्ञेया नाट्यसंश्रयाः ॥ २३॥
The physical, verbal, and emotional expressions, as well as the visual ones, are the four types of performance, and these are recognized as the foundation of drama.

AGgikau vAcikazcaiva hyAhAryaH sAtvikastathA । catvAro'bhinayA hyete vijJeyA nATyasaMzrayAH ॥ 23॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptलोकधर्मी नाट्यधर्मी धर्मीति द्विविधः स्मृतः । भारती सात्वती चैव कैशिक्यारभटी तथा ॥ २४॥
It is said that there are two types of dharma: the worldly dharma and the dharma of drama. Bharati and Sattvati, as well as Kaishiki and Arabhati, are the four divisions in this context.

lokadharmI nATyadharmI dharmIti dvividhaH smRtaH । bhAratI sAtvatI caiva kaizikyArabhaTI tathA ॥ 24॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचतस्रो वृत्तयो ह्येता यासु नाट्यं प्रतिष्ठितम् । आवन्ती दाक्षिणात्या च तथा चैवोढ्रमागधी ॥ २५॥
These four styles are the basis of drama: the Avanti, the Dakshina, the Udra, and the Magadhi.
