केवलं परिवर्ते तु गमने त्रिपदी भवेत् । दिग्वन्दने पञ्चपदी चतुरश्रे विधीयते ॥ १४६॥
In the case of circumambulation, three steps are to be taken while moving. For saluting the directions, five steps should be used. These are prescribed for movements within a square formation.

kevalaM parivarte tu gamane tripadI bhavet । digvandane paJcapadI caturazre vidhIyate ॥ 146॥
