करौ पार्श्वे ततस्ताभ्यां विक्षिप्तं सम्प्रयोजयेत् । ताभ्यां सूची तथा चैव त्रिकं तु परिवर्तयेत् ॥ २३०॥
The hands should be placed on the sides, and the scattered movement should be applied from them. Then, the needle should be turned in a circle with the three fingers.
english translation
karau pArzve tatastAbhyAM vikSiptaM samprayojayet । tAbhyAM sUcI tathA caiva trikaM tu parivartayet ॥ 230॥
