यानि चाल्पाक्षराणि स्युरल्पच्छन्दःकृतानि तु । तानि स्थितावकृष्टासु कार्या ह्याक्षेपिकीषु च ॥ ४२॥

Metres which consist of a small number of syllables and are formed as minor metres are to be applied in the Sthitā, Apakṛṣṭā, as well as in the Ākṣepikī Dhruvās.

english translation

yAni cAlpAkSarANi syuralpacchandaHkRtAni tu । tAni sthitAvakRSTAsu kAryA hyAkSepikISu ca ॥ 42॥
