या गम्या प्रमदा भूत्वा गम्या भूमिषु युज्यते । गम्या भूमिष्वगम्या च नाट्यधर्मी तु सा स्मृता ॥ ७८॥

The one who is to be portrayed as a woman, who is suited for different roles in various settings, and who is capable of being represented on the stage in a dramatic manner, is considered to embody the characteristics of dramatic performance.

english translation

yA gamyA pramadA bhUtvA gamyA bhUmiSu yujyate | gamyA bhUmiSvagamyA ca nATyadharmI tu sA smRtA || 78||
