Natyashastra
धर्मो धर्मप्रवृत्तानां कामः कामोपसेविनाम् । निग्रहो दुर्विनीतानां विनीतानां दमक्रिया ॥ १०९॥
Dharma is for those who are engaged in righteous actions, desire is for those who seek pleasure, restraint is for those who are unruly, and discipline is for those who are disciplined.
english translation
dharmo dharmapravRttAnAM kAmaH kAmopasevinAm । nigraho durvinItAnAM vinItAnAM damakriyA ॥ 109॥
