सकृदंशो निपतति सकृत् कन्या प्रदीयते । सकृदाह ददानीति त्रीण्येतानि सतां सकृत् ॥ ४७ ॥

Once is the partition (of the inheritance) made, (once is) a maiden given in marriage, (and) once does (a man) say,’I will give;’each of those three (acts is done) once only.

english translation

sakRdaMzo nipatati sakRt kanyA pradIyate | sakRdAha dadAnIti trINyetAni satAM sakRt || 47 ||
