अनपत्यस्य पुत्रस्य माता दायमवाप्नुयात् । मातर्यपि च वृत्तायां पितुर्माता हरेद् धनम् ॥ २१७ ॥

sanskrit

A mother shall obtain the inheritance of a son (who dies) without leaving issue, and, if the mother be dead, the paternal grandmother shall take the estate.

english translation

anapatyasya putrasya mAtA dAyamavApnuyAt । mAtaryapi ca vRttAyAM piturmAtA hared dhanam ॥ 217 ॥
