नाततायिवधे दोषो हन्तुर्भवति कश्चन । प्रकाशं वाऽप्रकाशं वा मन्युस्तं मन्युमृच्छति ॥ ३५१ ॥

By killing an assassin the slayer incurs no guilt, whether (he does it) publicly or secretly; in that case fury recoils upon fury.

english translation

nAtatAyivadhe doSo hanturbhavati kazcana | prakAzaM vA'prakAzaM vA manyustaM manyumRcchati || 351 ||

परदाराभिमर्शेषु प्रवृत्तान्नॄन् महीपतिः । उद्वेजनकरैर्दण्डैश्छिन्नयित्वा प्रवासयेत् ॥ ३५२ ॥

Men who commit adultery with the wives of others, the king shall cause to be marked by punishments which cause terror, and afterwards banish.

paradArAbhimarzeSu pravRttAnnRRn mahIpatiH | udvejanakarairdaNDaizchinnayitvA pravAsayet || 352 ||

तत्समुत्थो हि लोकस्य जायते वर्णसङ्करः । येन मूलहरोऽधर्मः सर्वनाशाय कल्पते ॥ ३५३ ॥

For by (adultery) is caused a mixture of the castes (varna) among men; thence (follows) sin, which cuts up even the roots and causes the destruction of everything.

english translation

tatsamuttho hi lokasya jAyate varNasaGkaraH | yena mUlaharo'dharmaH sarvanAzAya kalpate || 353 ||

परस्य पत्न्या पुरुषः सम्भाषां योजयन् रहः । पूर्वमाक्षारितो दोषैः प्राप्नुयात् पूर्वसाहसम् ॥ ३५४ ॥

A man formerly accused of (such) offences, who secretly converses with another man’s wife, shall pay the first (or lowest) amercement.

parasya patnyA puruSaH sambhASAM yojayan rahaH | pUrvamAkSArito doSaiH prApnuyAt pUrvasAhasam || 354 ||

यस्त्वनाक्षारितः पूर्वमभिभाषते कारणात् । न दोषं प्राप्नुयात् किं चिन्न हि तस्य व्यतिक्रमः ॥ ३५५ ॥

But a man, not before accused, who (thus) speaks with (a woman) for some (reasonable) cause, shall not incur any guilt, since in him there is no transgression.

english translation

yastvanAkSAritaH pUrvamabhibhASate kAraNAt | na doSaM prApnuyAt kiM cinna hi tasya vyatikramaH || 355 ||
