एवं सर्वमिदं राजा सह सम्मन्त्र्य मन्त्रिभिः । व्यायम्याप्लुत्य मध्याह्ने भोक्तुमन्तःपुरं विशेत् ॥ २१६ ॥
Having thus consulted with his ministers on all these (matters), having taken exercise, and having bathed afterwards, the king may enter the harem at midday in order to dine.
english translation
तत्रात्मभूतैः कालज्ञैरहार्यैः परिचारकैः । सुपरीक्षितमन्नाद्यमद्यान् मन्त्रैर्विषापहैः ॥ २१७ ॥
There he may eat food, (which has been prepared) by faithful, incorruptible (servants) who know the (proper) time (for dining), which has been well examined (and hallowed) by sacred texts that destroy poison.
english translation
विषघ्नैरगदैश्चास्य सर्वद्रव्याणि योजयेत् । विषघ्नानि च रत्नानि नियतो धारयेत् सदा ॥ २१८ ॥
Let him mix all his food with medicines (that are) antidotes against poison, and let him always be careful to wear gems which destroy poison.
english translation
परीक्षिताः स्त्रियश्चैनं व्यजनोदकधूपनैः । वेषाभरणसंशुद्धाः स्पृशेयुः सुसमाहिताः ॥ २१९ ॥
Well-tried females whose toilet and ornaments have been examined, shall attentively serve him with fans, water, and perfumes.
english translation
एवं प्रयत्नं कुर्वीत यानशय्याऽऽसनाशने । स्नाने प्रसाधने चैव सर्वालङ्कारकेषु च ॥ २२० ॥
In like manner let him be careful about his carriages, bed, seat, bath, toilet, and all his ornaments.
