त्रिरात्रमाहुराशौचमाचार्ये संस्थिते सति । तस्य पुत्रे च पत्न्यां च दिवारात्रमिति स्थितिः ॥ ८० ॥

They declare that, when the teacher (akarya) has died, the impurity (lasts) three days; if the (teacher’s) son or wife (is dead, it lasts) a day and a night; that is a settled (rule).

english translation

trirAtramAhurAzaucamAcArye saMsthite sati | tasya putre ca patnyAM ca divArAtramiti sthitiH || 80 ||
