यो ह्यस्य धर्ममाचष्टे यश्चैवादिशति व्रतम् । सोऽसंवृतं नाम तमः सह तेनैव मज्जति ॥ ८१ ॥

For he who explains the sacred law (to a Sudra) or dictates to him a penance, will sink together with that (man) into the hell (called) Asamvrita.

english translation

yo hyasya dharmamAcaSTe yazcaivAdizati vratam | so'saMvRtaM nAma tamaH saha tenaiva majjati || 81 ||

न संहताभ्यां पाणिभ्यां कण्डूयेदात्मनः शिरः । न स्पृशेच्चैतदुच्छिष्टो न च स्नायाद् विना ततः ॥ ८२ ॥

Let him not scratch his head with both hands joined; let him not touch it while he is impure, nor bathe without (submerging) it.

english translation

na saMhatAbhyAM pANibhyAM kaNDUyedAtmanaH ziraH | na spRzeccaitaducchiSTo na ca snAyAd vinA tataH || 82 ||

केशग्रहान् प्रहारांश्च शिरस्येतान् विवर्जयेत् । शिरःस्नातश्च तैलेन नाङ्गं किं चिदपि स्पृशेत् ॥ ८३ ॥

Let him avoid (in anger) to lay hold of (his own or other men’s) hair, or to strike (himself or others) on the head. When he has bathed (submerging) his head, he shall not touch any of his limbs with oil.

english translation

kezagrahAn prahArAMzca zirasyetAn vivarjayet | ziraHsnAtazca tailena nAGgaM kiM cidapi spRzet || 83 ||

न राज्ञः प्रतिगृह्णीयादराजन्यप्रसूतितः । सूनाचक्रध्वजवतां वेशेनैव च जीवताम् ॥ ८४ ॥

Let him not accept presents from a king who is not descended from the Kshatriya race, nor from butchers, oil-manufacturers, and publicans, nor from those who subsist by the gain of prostitutes.

na rAjJaH pratigRhNIyAdarAjanyaprasUtitaH | sUnAcakradhvajavatAM vezenaiva ca jIvatAm || 84 ||

दशसूनासमं चक्रं दशचक्रसमो ध्वजः । दशध्वजसमो वेशो दशवेशसमो नृपः ॥ ८५ ॥

One oil-press is as (bad) as ten slaughter-houses, one tavern as (bad as) ten oil-presses, one brothel as (bad as) ten taverns, one king as (bad as) ten brothels.

dazasUnAsamaM cakraM dazacakrasamo dhvajaH | dazadhvajasamo vezo dazavezasamo nRpaH || 85 ||
