परकीयनिपानेषु न स्नायाद् हि कदा चन । निपानकर्तुः स्नात्वा तु दुष्कृतांशेन लिप्यते ॥ २०१ ॥

Let him never bathe in tanks belonging to other men; if he bathes (in such a one), he is tainted by a portion of the guilt of him who made the tank.

english translation

parakIyanipAneSu na snAyAd hi kadA cana । nipAnakartuH snAtvA tu duSkRtAMzena lipyate ॥ 201 ॥

यानशय्याऽऽसनान्यस्य कूपोद्यानगृहाणि च । अदत्तान्युपयुञ्जान एनसः स्यात् तुरीयभाक् ॥ २०२ ॥

He who uses without permission a carriage, a bed, a seat, a well, a garden or a house belonging to an (other man), takes upon himself one fourth of (the owner’s) guilt.

yAnazayyA''sanAnyasya kUpodyAnagRhANi ca । adattAnyupayuJjAna enasaH syAt turIyabhAk ॥ 202 ॥

नदीषु देवखातेषु तडागेषु सरःसु च । स्नानं समाचरेन्नित्यं गर्तप्रस्रवणेषु च ॥ २०३ ॥

Let him always bathe in rivers, in ponds, dug by the gods (themselves), in lakes, and in waterholes or springs.

english translation

nadISu devakhAteSu taDAgeSu saraHsu ca । snAnaM samAcarennityaM gartaprasravaNeSu ca ॥ 203 ॥

यमान् सेवेत सततं न नित्यं नियमान् बुधः । यमान् पतत्यकुर्वाणो नियमान् केवलान् भजन् ॥ २०४ ॥

A wise man should constantly discharge the paramount duties (called yama), but not always the minor ones (called niyama); for he who does not discharge the former, while he obeys the latter alone, becomes an outcast.

english translation

yamAn seveta satataM na nityaM niyamAn budhaH । yamAn patatyakurvANo niyamAn kevalAn bhajan ॥ 204 ॥

नाश्रोत्रियतते यज्ञे ग्रामयाजिकृते तथा । स्त्रिया क्लीबेन च हुते भुञ्जीत ब्राह्मणः क्व चित् ॥ २०५ ॥

A Brahmana must never eat (a dinner given) at a sacrifice that is offered by one who is not a Srotriya, by one who sacrifices for a multitude of men, by a woman, or by a eunuch.

english translation

nAzrotriyatate yajJe grAmayAjikRte tathA । striyA klIbena ca hute bhuJjIta brAhmaNaH kva cit ॥ 205 ॥
