दैवतान्यभिगच्छेत् तु धार्मिकांश्च द्विजोत्तमान् । ईश्वरं चैव रक्षार्थं गुरूनेव च पर्वसु ॥ १५३ ॥

sanskrit

But on the Parva-days let him go to visit the (images of the) gods, and virtuous Brahmanas, and the ruler (of the country), for the sake of protection, as well as his Gurus.

english translation

daivatAnyabhigacchet tu dhArmikAMzca dvijottamAn | IzvaraM caiva rakSArthaM gurUneva ca parvasu || 153 ||
