पूर्वां सन्ध्यां जपंस्तिष्ठन्नैशमेनो व्यपोहति । पश्चिमां तु समासीनो मलं हन्ति दिवाकृतम् ॥ १०२ ॥

sanskrit

He who stands during the morning twilight muttering (the Savitri), removes the guilt contracted during the (previous) night; but he who (recites it), seated, in the evening, destroys the sin he committed during the day.

english translation

pUrvAM sandhyAM japaMstiSThannaizameno vyapohati | pazcimAM tu samAsIno malaM hanti divAkRtam || 102 ||
