Manusmriti
आर्षं धर्मोपदेशं च वेदशास्त्राविरोधिना । यस्तर्केणानुसन्धत्ते स धर्मं वेद नैतरः ॥ १०६ ॥
He alone, and no other man, knows the sacred law, who explores the (utterances) of the sages and the body of the laws, by (modes of) reasoning, not repugnant to the Veda-lore.
english translation
ArSaM dharmopadezaM ca vedazAstrAvirodhinA । yastarkeNAnusandhatte sa dharmaM veda naitaraH ॥ 106 ॥
