Manusmriti
सत्यमुक्त्वा तु विप्रेषु विकिरेद् यवसं गवाम् । गोभिः प्रवर्तिते तीर्थे कुर्युस्तस्य परिग्रहम् ॥ १९६ ॥
If he answers to the Brahmanas, ’Forsooth, (I will not offend again), ’he shall scatter (some) grass for the cows; if the cows hallow that place (by eating the grass) the (Brahmana) shall re-admit him (into their community).
english translation
satyamuktvA tu vipreSu vikired yavasaM gavAm । gobhiH pravartite tIrthe kuryustasya parigraham ॥ 196 ॥
