अपुष्पाः फलवन्तो ये ते वनस्पतयः स्मृताः । पुष्पिणः फलिनश्चैव वृक्षास्तूभयतः स्मृताः ॥ ४७ ॥

sanskrit

(Those trees) which bear fruit without flowers are called vanaspati (lords of the forest); but those which bear both flowers and fruit are called vriksha.

english translation

apuSpAH phalavanto ye te vanaspatayaH smRtAH । puSpiNaH phalinazcaiva vRkSAstUbhayataH smRtAH ॥ 47 ॥
