जानन्न अपि महाबुद्धिः पुनर्द्यूतम अवर्तयत अप्य अयं न विनाशः सयात कुरूणाम इति चिन्तयन ॥ २-६७-१६ ॥

sanskrit

'Though he was highly intelligent and fully aware of the potential consequences, he proceeded with the game, as if foreseeing the impending destruction of the Kurus.' ॥ 2-67-16 ॥

english translation

jAnanna api mahAbuddhiH punardyUtama avartayata apya ayaM na vinAzaH sayAta kurUNAma iti cintayana ॥ 2-67-16 ॥
