भीष्मं मतिमतां शरेष्ठं वृद्धं कुरु पिता महम बृहस्पतिं बृहत तेजाः पुरुहूता इवारिहा ।। २-३७-२ ।।

sanskrit

'Bhishma, the best among the wise, the elder grandfather of the Kurus, of great splendor, was like Brihaspati to Indra in destroying enemies.' ।। 2-37-2 ।।

english translation

bhISmaM matimatAM zareSThaM vRddhaM kuru pitA mahama bRhaspatiM bRhata tejAH puruhUtA ivArihA || 2-37-2 ||
