भीष्मं मतिमतां शरेष्ठं वृद्धं कुरु पिता महम बृहस्पतिं बृहत तेजाः पुरुहूता इवारिहा ॥ २-३७-२ ॥

sanskrit

'Bhishma, the best among the wise, the elder grandfather of the Kurus, of great splendor, was like Brihaspati to Indra in destroying enemies.' ॥ 2-37-2 ॥

english translation

bhISmaM matimatAM zareSThaM vRddhaM kuru pitA mahama bRhaspatiM bRhata tejAH puruhUtA ivArihA ॥ 2-37-2 ॥
