कार्त्तिकस्य तु मासस्य परवृत्तं परथमे ऽहनि अनारतं दिवारात्रम अविश्रान्तम अवर्तत ।। २-२१-१७ ।।

sanskrit

'The heroic encounter began on the first lunar day of the month of Kartic (October), and the illustrious heroes fought incessantly day and night, without rest or food, until the thirteenth lunar day.' ।। 2-21-17 ।।

english translation

kArttikasya tu mAsasya paravRttaM parathame 'hani anArataM divArAtrama avizrAntama avartata || 2-21-17 ||
