सा ब्रह्मेति होवाच ब्रह्मणो वा एतद्विजये महीयध्वमिति ततो हैव विदाञ्चकार ब्रह्मेति ॥ १॥

sanskrit

That Brahmavidya Devi Uma said to Indra: This is Brahm and it is only in this victory of Brahm that you have become glorified, that is, the gods have attained glory only by his power - from this statement of Uma, Indra came to know that this is Brahm.

english translation

वह ब्रह्मविद्या देवी उमा इन्द्र से बोली: यह ब्रह्म है और ब्रह्म की इस विजय में ही तुम महिमा युक्त बने हो, अर्थात् देवताओं ने केवल उन्ही की शक्ति से महिमा प्राप्त की है -उमा के इस कथन से ही इन्द्र ने जाना कि यही ब्रह्म है I
