यदि मन्यसे सुवेदेति दभ्रमेवापि नूनं त्वं वेत्थ ब्रह्मणो रूपम् । यदस्य त्वं यदस्य देवेष्वथ नु मीमाँस्यमेव ते मन्ये विदितम् ॥ १॥
If you believe that "I know Brahma very well", then surely you know only the minor form of Brahma and the form which is known to learned people and gods is also a minor form. Therefore you should always meditate on it - only then the complete form of Brahma will be known.

यदि तुम ऐसा मानते हो कि "मैं ब्रह्म को अच्छी तरह जानता हूँ" तो निश्चय ही तुम ब्रह्म का अल्प स्वरूप ही जानता हो और जो रूप विद्वान् जनों और देवताओं को भी विदित है वह भी अल्प स्वरुप ही है। अत: तुम्हे इसका सदैव मनन करना चाहिये-तभी ब्रह्म का पूर्ण स्वरुप जाना जायगा।

नाहं मन्ये सुवेदेति नो न वेदेति वेद च । यो नस्तद्वेद तद्वेद नो न वेदेति वेद च ॥ २॥
I do not believe that I know the nature of Brahma well, nor do I believe that I do not know, but I do. Whoever of us knows him understands that even though I do not know him, I know him.

मैं यह नहीं मानता कि मैं ब्रह्म के स्वरूप को भली प्रकार जानता हूँ और न मैं यह मानता हूँ कि नहीं जानता, किन्तु जानता हूँ। हम में से जो भी उस को जानता है वह यही समझता है कि मैं उसको यद्यपि नहीं जानता तथापि जानता हूँ I

यस्यामतं तस्य मतं मतं यस्य न वेद सः । अविज्ञातं विजानतां विज्ञातमविजानताम् ॥ ३॥
The man who thinks that he does not know Brahma, he knows Him. The man who thinks that he knows, does not actually know him. He is unknown to the knowledgeable and is known to those who do not know. That is, only those people who try to see Him personally through listening, meditation and Nididhyasan are able to know Him, those who are proud of knowledge can never know Him.

जो मनुष्य समझता है कि मैं ब्रह्म को नहीं जानता, वह उसको जानता है। जो मनुष्य यह समझता है की मैं जानता हूँ-वह वस्तुतः उसे नहीं जानता। ज्ञानियों से वह अज्ञात है और न जानने वाले उसे जानते हैं। अर्थात् जो मनुष्य श्रवण, मनन, निदिध्यासन द्वारा उसके साक्षात् दर्शन करने की चेष्टा करते हैं वे ही उसे जान पाते हैं, ज्ञान का अभिमान करने वाले उसे कभी नहीं जान सकते।

प्रतिबोधविदितं मतममृतत्वं हि विन्दते । आत्मना विन्दते वीर्यं विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम् ॥ ४॥
By Pratibodh i.e. knowing and meditating again and again, he becomes known as Brahma and such a person attains nectar i.e. salvation. Man gets strength from his soul and attains Brahma through Brahmavidya.
english translation
प्रतिबोध अर्थात् बार बार जानने और मनन करने से वह ब्रह्म जाना जाता है और ऐसा मनुष्य अमृत अर्थात् मोक्ष को प्राप्त कर लेता है। मनुष्य अपनी आत्मा से बल प्राप्त करता है और ब्रह्मविद्या से ब्रह्म को प्राप्त करता है।

इह चेदवेदीदथ सत्यमस्ति न चेदिहावेदीन्महती विनष्टिः । भूतेषु भूतेषु विचित्य धीराः प्रेत्यास्माल्लोकादमृता भवन्ति ॥ ५॥
If one knows Brahma in this very birth, then the truth i.e. life becomes successful, if one does not know it then one suffers huge loss because who knows whether one will get this birth or not. By seeing the presence of God in every particle of the world, the patient person attains the eternal nectar of happiness after dying from this world.
english translation
यदि इसी जन्म में ब्रह्म को जान लिया तो सत्य अर्थात् जीवन सफल हो गया, यदि न जाना तो बड़े भारी हानि हुई क्योंकि क्या पता फिर यह जन्म मिले या न मिले। धीर पुरुष संसार के प्रत्येक कण कण में प्रभु की सत्ता को देख कर इस लोक से मरने के अनन्तर अक्षय सुख अमृत को प्राप्त होते हैं।
