अकर्तुः कर्मबन्धोऽयं पुरुषस्य यथाश्रयः। गुणेषु सत्सु प्रकृतेः कैवल्यं तेष्वतः कथम्॥2.16॥

Therefore, how can there be freedom in the presence of the qualities of prakriti? (For prakriti) causes the bondage in action to the purusa who is a non-doer.

english translation

akartuH karmabandho'yaM puruSasya yathAzrayaH। guNeSu satsu prakRteH kaivalyaM teSvataH katham॥2.16॥
