तावदर्थमलभमाना तु स्वेनाप्येकदेशेन दुहित्र एतद्दत्तमनेनेति ख्यापयेत् ॥ ९७ ॥

If she does not obtain money from the suitor, the mother places her own money in a given spot and proclaims that she has received it from him.

english translation

विना धन मिले भी प्रदर्शन - जो जो वस्तुएँ उससे पहले नियत हुई हों, यदि वे सब न भी मिलें तो वेश्या अपनी ओर से दिखाकर यह कह दे कि यह भी इस युवक ने मेरी पुत्री को दिया है ॥ १७ ॥
