Now the moolatrikona and other signs of the Sun and the rest. From the Sun, the moolatrikona signs are Leo, Taurus, Aries, Virgo, Sagittarius, Libra and Aquarius. For Venus (sita), Saturn (asita), the Sun (arka) and Jupiter (angiras), the first twenty (nakha = 20) degrees are the moolatrikona, and beyond that is the planet's own house.

(1) Hora is half a sign: in an odd sign [the halves] are the Sun's and the Moon's; in an even sign the Moon's and the Sun's. (2) The drekkanas belong to the lords of the sign itself, of its 5th and of its 9th.
