राजा॒ राष्ट्रकृतं पापं राज्ञः पापं पुरोहितः । भर्ता च स्त्रीकृतं पापं शिष्यपापं गुरुस्तथा ॥१०II

The king suffers for the sins committed in his kingdom and the priest suffers for the sins of the king. Just as men bear the sins of women, similarly the Guru bears the sins of his disciples.

english translation

अपने राज्य में हुए पापों को राजा तथा राजा के पाप को पुरोहित भोगता है। जैसे स्त्रियों के पाप को पुरुष भोगता है वैसे ही शिष्यों के पाप को गुरु भोगता है।
