कषायमधुरंरूक्षंविद्याद्वासन्तिकंजलम्। ग्रैष्मिकंत्वनभिष्यन्दिजलमित्येवनिश्चयः॥ ऋतावृताविहाख्याताःसर्वएवाम्भसोगुणाः ॥२०६॥
Spring water is to be considered to be an astringent, is sweet and dry. Summer water is not greasy (anabhishyandi). Thus, the properties of water according to each and every season have been studied by sages and described here.

नद्यःपाषाणविच्छिन्नविक्षुब्धाभिहतोदकाः । हिमवत्प्रभवाःपथ्याःपुण्यादेवर्षिसेविताः ॥२०९॥
The water of rivers that originate from the Himalayas, whose flow is broken, agitated, and obstructed by rocks, and on whose banks dwell Gods and Rishis is considered wholesome and holy.

नद्यःपाषाणसिकतावाहिन्योविमलोदकाः। मलयप्रभवायाश्चजलंतास्वमृतोपमम् ॥२१०॥
