अथातः सद्योमरणीयमिन्द्रियं व्याख्यास्यामः ॥१॥
We shall now expound the chapter "Sadyomaraneeyam Indriyam Adhyaya" (Signs of instant death and incurable complications of several diseases).

सद्यस्तितिक्षतः प्राणाँल्लक्षणानि पृथक् पृथक्। अग्निवेश! प्रवक्ष्यामि संस्पृष्टो यैर्न जीवति ॥३॥
Oh Agnivesha! I shall describe separately the ‘‘signs and symptoms indicative of impending instantaneous death’’. The patient afflicted with these signs and symptoms does not survive.

वाताष्ठीला सुसंवृद्धा तिष्ठन्ती दारुणा हृदि। तृष्णयाऽभिपरीतस्य सद्यो मुष्णाति जीवितम् ॥४॥
[List of signs of instantaneous death] The patient of painful and fully manifested vatashthila (hard tumor caused by vitiated vata) in the cardiac region if, suffers from intense thirst, then he instantly dies.

पिण्डिके शिथिलीकृत्य जिह्मीकृत्य च नासिकाम्। वायुः शरीरे विचरन् सद्यो मुष्णाति जीवितम् ॥५॥
If patient develops laxity in the calf muscles and irregularity in the structure of the nose due to the movement of abnormal vata all over the body, then he instantly dies.
