स्वयं श्रुत्वाऽनुमानेन लक्ष्यते प्रशमेन वा। वैविध्यादभिचारस्य शापस्य च तदात्मके ॥१२१॥
concerning such things and also by the method of inference drawn from the application of therapeutic tests. Since black magic and imprecation are of diverse modes, the fevers resulting from their employment are also diverse and are distinguished by symptoms corresponding to the particular mode.

svayaM zrutvA'numAnena lakSyate prazamena vA। vaividhyAdabhicArasya zApasya ca tadAtmake ॥121॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयथाकर्मप्रयोगेण लक्षणं स्यात् पृथग्विधम्। ध्याननिःश्वासबहुलं लिङ्गं कामज्वरे स्मृतम् ॥१२२॥
In the fever [jvara] of desire the symptom is obsession with constant sighing; the fever born of grief is marked by constant lachrymation; the fever born of fear by constant dread;
english translation
yathAkarmaprayogeNa lakSaNaM syAt pRthagvidham। dhyAnaniHzvAsabahulaM liGgaM kAmajvare smRtam ॥122॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशोकजे बाष्पबहुलं त्रासप्रायं भयज्वरे। क्रोधजे बहुसंरम्भं भूतावेशे त्वमानुषम् ॥१२३॥
the fever born of anger by much exasperation; the fever resulting from spirit-possession by super-human behaviour and the fever born of poisoning by much fainting, stupefaction, intoxication and depression.
english translation
zokaje bASpabahulaM trAsaprAyaM bhayajvare। krodhaje bahusaMrambhaM bhUtAveze tvamAnuSam ॥123॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमूर्च्छामोहमदग्लानिभूयिष्ठं विषसम्भवे। केषाञ्चिदेषां लिङ्गानां सन्तापो जायते पुरः ॥१२४॥
Jwara caused by visha (intoxications) is associated with the features of fainting, unconsciousness, intoxication and fatigue.

mUrcchAmohamadaglAnibhUyiSThaM viSasambhave। keSAJcideSAM liGgAnAM santApo jAyate puraH ॥124॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपश्चात्तुल्यं तु केषाञ्चिदेषु कामज्वरादिषु। कामादिजानामुद्दिष्टं ज्वराणां यद्विशेषणम् ॥१२५॥
In some jwara, fever appears first and then the signs and symptoms of kama etc. as described above are manifested, and it may happen the other way also.

pazcAttulyaM tu keSAJcideSu kAmajvarAdiSu। kAmAdijAnAmuddiSTaM jvarANAM yadvizeSaNam ॥125॥
