पूतिगन्धान् विवर्णांश्च बहुस्रावान्महारुजः । व्रणानशुद्धान् विज्ञाय शोधनैः समुपाचरेत् ॥८३॥
[Vrana shodhana (local purification of ulcers)] Wounds with foul odor, abnormal color, profuse discharge and intense pain should be known as dushta vrana (unclean) and as such wounds should be treated with cleansing agents.
