शिखिगुणरसैन्द्रियानलशशिविषयगुणऋतुपञ्चवसुपक्षाः । विषयएकचन्द्रभूतार्णवाग्निरुद्राश्विवसुदहनाः ॥ ९८-०१ ॥
The peacock’s qualities are the taste, the senses, the fire, the moon, the objects, the qualities, the seasons, the five wings of the earth. They are the objects of sense gratification, the moon, the elements, the ocean, the fire, the Rudras, the Aśvinī-kumāras and Vasu.

zikhiguNarasaindriyAnalazaziviSayaguNaRtupaJcavasupakSAH । viSayaekacandrabhUtArNavAgnirudrAzvivasudahanAH ॥ 98-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभूतशतपक्षवसवो द्वात्रिंशच्चैति तारकामानम् । क्रमशो अश्विन्यादीनां कालस्ताराप्रमाणेन ॥ ९८-०२ ॥
The number of stars is one hundred and thirty-two. Gradually, the time of the Aśvinī-kumāras and other planets is measured by the measurement of the stars.

bhUtazatapakSavasavo dvAtriMzaccaiti tArakAmAnam । kramazo azvinyAdInAM kAlastArApramANena ॥ 98-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनक्षत्रजं उद्वाहे फलं अब्दैस्तारकामितैः सदसत् । दिवसैर्ज्वरस्य नाशो व्याधेरन्यस्य वा वाच्यः ॥ ९८-०३ ॥
In matters connected with marriage, these numbers represent years after which the effects indicated will be felt. Recovery from fever and the like will begin after so many days.

nakSatrajaM udvAhe phalaM abdaistArakAmitaiH sadasat । divasairjvarasya nAzo vyAdheranyasya vA vAcyaH ॥ 98-03 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअश्वियमदहनकमलजशशिशूलभृददितिजीवफणिपितरः । योन्यर्यमदिनकृत्त्वष्टृपवनशक्राग्निमित्राश्च ॥ ९८-०४ ॥
They are the fathers of the horse, the burning lotus, the moon, the baby, the trident, the sun, the living entity and the phoenix. They were the sons of Arya, Adin, Kṛtvaṣṭā, Pavana, Indra, Agni and Mitra.

azviyamadahanakamalajazazizUlabhRdaditijIvaphaNipitaraH । yonyaryamadinakRttvaSTRpavanazakrAgnimitrAzca ॥ 98-04 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशक्रो निरृतिस्तोयं विश्वे ब्रह्मा हरिर्वसुर्वरुणः । अजपादो अहिर्बुध्न्यः पूषा चेतीश्वरा भानाम् ॥ ९८-०५ ॥
Indra, Nirṛti, Stoya, Viśva, Brahmā, Hari, Vasu and Varuṇa are the five elements. Ajapāda, Ahira, Budhnya, Pūṣā and Chetī are the lords of the sun.
