उत्तरवीथिषु शुक्रः सुभिक्षशिवकृद्गतो अस्तं उदयं च । मध्यासु मध्यफलदः कष्टफलो दक्षिणस्थासु ॥ ९-०८ ॥

If Venus (śukra) should either disappear or reappear in a northern Vīthi there will be prosperity and happiness in the land; if in a central Vīthi there will not be much of either; and if in a southern Vīthi mankind will be afflicted with miseries.

english translation

uttaravIthiSu zukraH subhikSazivakRdgato astaM udayaM ca । madhyAsu madhyaphaladaH kaSTaphalo dakSiNasthAsu ॥ 9-08 ॥
