उपहतदाम्भिकराक्षसनिद्राबहुलाश्च जन्तवः सर्वे । धर्मेण च संत्यक्ता माषतिलाश्चार्कशशिशत्रोः ॥ १६-३६ ॥
He also presides over the most wicked in the family, over torturers, ungrateful men, thieves, persons who are untruthful, uncleanly and ungenerous; over ass-riders, duelists, persons of easily irritable temperament, infants in the womb and Cāṇḍālas.

He also presides over notorious sinners, fops, Rākṣasas, excessive sleepers, all sentient beings and wicked persons; over black gram and gingelly seed.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरदारविवादरताः पररन्ध्रकुतूहला मदौत्सिक्ताः । मूर्खाअधार्मिकविजिगीषवश्च केतोः समाख्याताः ॥ १६-३८ ॥
Ketu presides over mountains, fortified cities, the countries of Pahlava, Śveta, Hūṇa; Colā, Avagāṇa, Maru, Cīna (China) and the land of the Mlecchas; over rich men, men of note, men of industry and valour; over men coveting the wives of others, men prying into the secrets of other men, haughty men, ignorant men, sinners and persons fond of victory.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptउदयसमये यः स्निग्धांशुर्महान्प्रकृतिस्थितो यदि च न हतो निर्घातौल्कारजोग्रहमर्दनैः । स्वभवनगतः स्वोच्चप्राप्तः शुभग्रहवीक्षितः स भवति शिवस्तेषां येषां प्रभुः परिकीर्तितः ॥ १६-३९ ॥
If at the time of reappearance, a planet should appear bright, of large disc and in his natural condition, not crossed by thunderbolts, meteoric falls or dust-storms and not suffer in conjunction with other planets or if he should be in his house or in his Uccakṣetra or if he should be within sight of a benefic planet, he will bring prosperity to the persons and objects presided over by him.

udayasamaye yaH snigdhAMzurmahAnprakRtisthito yadi ca na hato nirghAtaulkArajograhamardanaiH । svabhavanagataH svoccaprAptaH zubhagrahavIkSitaH sa bhavati zivasteSAM yeSAM prabhuH parikIrtitaH ॥ 16-39 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभिहितविपरीत लक्षणे क्षयं उपगच्छति तत्परिग्रहः । डमरभयगदऽतुरा जना नरपतयश्च भवन्ति दुःखिताः ॥ १६-४० ॥
If on the other hand he should appear otherwise than as described above, the same persons and objects will suffer miseries and people will also suffer from wars and from diseases and kings will be afflicted with sorrow.

abhihitaviparIta lakSaNe kSayaM upagacchati tatparigrahaH । Damarabhayagada'turA janA narapatayazca bhavanti duHkhitAH ॥ 16-40 ॥
