कुरुभूमिजाः प्रभासं विदिशा वेदस्मृती महीतटजाः । खलमलिननीचतैलिकविहीनसत्त्वौपहतपुंस्त्वाः ॥ १६-३१ ॥

sanskrit

Those born in the Kuru lands, in Vidisha, and along the riverbanks, learned in the Vedas and Smriti, are illustrious; but the wicked, impure, low-born, lacking refinement and vigor, are deprived of true manliness.

english translation

kurubhUmijAH prabhAsaM vidizA vedasmRtI mahItaTajAH । khalamalinanIcatailikavihInasattvaupahatapuMstvAH ॥ 16-31 ॥
