उल्कया विनिहतः शिखिना वा क्षुद्भयं मरकं एव विधत्ते । दृश्यते स किल हस्तगते अर्के रोहिणीं उपगते अस्तं उपैति ॥ १२-२१ ॥

If Canopus should be crossed by meteoric falls or by comets, mankind will suffer from hunger and death. When the sun enters the constellation of Hasta, Canopus reappears, and when he enters the constellation of Rohiṇī, Canopus disappears.

english translation

ulkayA vinihataH zikhinA vA kSudbhayaM marakaM eva vidhatte । dRzyate sa kila hastagate arke rohiNIM upagate astaM upaiti ॥ 12-21 ॥
