भ्रष्टस्य तुङ्गादवरोहिसञ्ज्ञा मध्या भवेत्सा सुहृदुच्चभागे ॥ आरोहिणी निम्नपरिच्युतस्य नीचारिभांशेष्वधमा भवेत्सा ॥ ८-६ ॥
Of the fallen from exaltation named “Avarohin,” that one should be middling when the portion from exaltation is friendly. Of the deviated from debilitation in an enemy zodiac sign when in the portion of an enemy zodiac sign from debilitation, that one should be the worst.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptनीचारिभांशे समवस्थितस्य शस्ते गृहे मिश्रफला प्रदिष्टा ॥ सञ्ज्ञानुरूपाणि फलान्यथैषां दशासु वक्ष्यामि यथोपयोगम् ॥ ८-७ ॥
When in a portion of the zodiac sign of an enemy from debilitation in a fortunate zodiac sign and of the the portion (being fortunate) in an (enemy) zodiac sign a mixed result is ordained. Here the result corresponding to the terms in the dashas, I will instruct according to the indications.

nIcAribhAMze samavasthitasya zaste gRhe mizraphalA pradiSTA ॥ saJjJAnurUpANi phalAnyathaiSAM dazAsu vakSyAmi yathopayogam ॥ 8-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउभयेऽधममध्यपूजिता द्रेष्काणैश्चभेषु चोत्क्रमात् ॥ अशुभेष्टसमा: स्थिरे क्रमाद्धोराया: परिकल्पिता दशा ॥ ८-८ ॥
When dual (zodiac signs), the dreshkanas are worst, fair, and honored, respectively in that order. When movable (zodiac signs) the order is reversed. When fixed (zodiac signs) the order is unfortunate, desirable, and fair. From the lagnas is the dasha distributed.

One, two, nine, twenty, eighteen, twenty, fifty in this order are the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, the Sun, and Saturn with their own years with their own incubated results. With them produced with creation are the ripening of the dasha in succession until the end. Yavana said, “The dasha of the lagna is auspicious.” Some others do not regard it in that manner.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptपाकस्वामिनि लग्नगे सुहृदि वा वर्गेऽस्यसौम्येऽपि वा प्रार ब्धा शुभदा दशा त्रिदशषङ्लाभेषु वा पाकपे ॥ मित्रोच्चोपचयत्रिकोणमदने पाकेश्वरस्य स्थितश्चन्द्र: सत्फलबोधनानि कुरुते पापानि चातोऽन्यथा ॥ ८-१० ॥
When the lord of the results is situated in the lagna or a friendly (zodiac sign) or its varga, or when a benefic, or the lord of the results is in the 3rd, 10th, 6th, or 11th houses; the commenced dasha causes auspiciousness. The Moon situated in a friend’s, exalted, upachaya, trikona, or 7th house are those indicating auspicious results. And otherwise from this it creates evils.
