स्वतुङ्गचक्रोपगतै स्त्रिसङ्गुणं द्विरुत्तमस्वांशकभत्रिभागै: ॥ इयान्विशेषस्तु भदत्तभाषिते समानमन्यत्प्रथमेऽप्युदीरितम् ॥ ७-११ ॥
By them being in one’s own exalted and retrograde position, [the length of life] is multiplied by three. With them being exalted, in one’s own portion (vargottama), zodiac sign or dreshkana, [the length of life is multiplied] by two. But the distinguishing factor of these (conditions) are the same and also different as said before in the words of Bhadatta.

किन्न्वत्र भांशप्रतिमं ददाति वीर्यान्विता राशिसमं च होरा ॥ क्रूरोदये चोपचय: स नात्र कार्यं च नाब्दै: प्र थमोपदिष्टै: ॥ ७-१२ ॥
But here, the lagna in one’s portion of strength gives the measure of the portions of the zodiac sign corresponding to the zodiac sign and malefic in the lagna. That additional (rule) is not to be done here nor with the years in the previous instructions.

सत्योपदेशो वरमत्र किन्तु कुर्वन्त्ययोग्यं बहुवर्गणाभि: ॥ आचार्यकत्वं च बहुघ्नतायामेकं तु यद्भूरि तदेव कार्यम् ॥ ७-१३ ॥
Here the instruction of Satya is better, but with the many divisions they make [the instruction] unworthy. And the opinion of the teacher, when many multiplications, but rather one; one which is highest, indeed, that one is to be done.

गुरुशशिसहिते कुलीरलग्ने शशितनये भृगुजे च केन्द्रयाते ॥ भवरिपुसहाजोपगैश्च शेषैरमितमिहायुरनुक्रमाद्विना स्यात् ॥ ७-१४ ॥
