पूर्वशास्त्रानुसारेण मया वज्रादय: कृता: ॥ चतुर्थे भवने सूर्याज्ज्ञसितौ भवत: कथम् ? ॥ १२-६ ॥
Vajra (thunderbolt) yoga, etc. referred to by me are in accordance with the ancient texts; how can it be that Mercury and Venus are in the 4th house from the Sun?

कण्टकादिप्रवृत्तैस्तु चतुर्गृहगतैर्गहै: ॥ यूपेषुशक्तिदण्डाख्या होराद्यै: कण्टकै: क्रमात् ॥ १२-७ ॥
But with those commenced from the angular houses with the planets consecutively situated in four zodiac signs, they are called Yupa (sacrificial post) yoga, Ishu (arrow) yoga, Shakti (power) yoga, and Danda (rod) yoga with the angles beginning with the lagna, in that order.

नौकूटच्छत्रचापानि तद्वत्सप्तर्क्षसंस्थितै: ॥ अर्द्धचन्द्रस्तु नावाद्यै: प्रोक्त:त्वन्यर्क्षसंस्थितै: ॥ १२-८ ॥
Likewise, with those situated in the seven consecutive zodiac signs; they are Nau (boat) yoga, Kuta (mountain peak) yoga, Chatra (umbrella) yoga, and Capa (bow) yoga. But it is said with Nau (boat) yoga, etc. situated in the other zodiac signs, they are Ardachandra (halfmoon) yoga.

एकान्तरगतैरर्थात्समुद्र: षड्गृहाश्रितै: ॥ विलग्नादिस्थितैश्चक्रमित्याकृतिजसंग्रह: ॥ १२-९ ॥
With those situated in every other one (zodiac sign) from the 2nd house, it is Samudra (ocean) yoga. With those situated in (every other) six zodiac signs from the lagna, etc., it is Chakra (circle) yoga. Thus, is the collection born of the Akriti (shape) yogas.

सङ्ख्यायोगा: स्यु:सप्त सप्तर्क्ष संस्थैरेकापायाद्वल्लकी दामिनी च ॥ पाश: केदार: शूलयोगो युगं च गोलश्चान्यान्पूर्वमुक्तान्विहाय ॥ १२-१० ॥
With those (planets) situated in each of the seven zodiac signs, they should be the Samkhya yogas from the diminution by one as follows: Vallaki (lute) yoga, Damini (lightning) yoga, Pasha (noose) yoga, Kedara (a field under water) yoga, Shula yoga, Yuga (pair) yoga, and Gola (globe) yoga; having exempted the others previously mentioned.
