Astanga Hrudaya
सिरामर्मव्यधे सान्द्रमजस्रं बह्वसृक्स्रवेत् । तत्क्षयात्तृड्भ्रमश्वासमोहहिध्माभिरन्तकः ॥ ५0 ॥
are injured the blood which is frothy and warm flows out with a sound, and the person becomes unconscious in case of injury to sira marma (vital spots which are predominantly made up of veins), blood which is thick flows out continuously and in large quantity; from its loss, thirst, giddiness, dyspnoea, delusion (unconsciousness), and hiccup manifest leading to death
