Astanga Hrudaya
पाणिवस्त्रैर्गलापीडं कुर्यान्न म्रियते तथा। प्राणोदाननिरोधाद्धि सुप्रसिद्धतरायनः॥१५॥
His throat should be pressed hard either with the hands or a band of cloth but not making him die, by obstructing the Prana and Udana (divisions of Vata) only the functioning in the well known channels.

pANivastrairgalApIDaM kuryAnna mriyate tathA। prANodAnanirodhAddhi suprasiddhatarAyanaH॥15॥
