Astanga Hrudaya
मयूरं पक्षपित्तान्त्रपादविट्तुण्डवर्जितम्। लग़ुना पञ्चमूलेन पालिकेन समन्वितम्॥४५॥
Take a whole peacock carcass that has been fully dressed by removing its feathers (pakṣa), bile (pitta), intestines (āntra), feet (pāda), fecal matter (viṭ), and beak (tuṇḍa). Combine this flesh with the roots of the laghu-pañcamūla (the five lesser roots), with each root measuring exactly one pala (approx. 48g).
